The steps to solve the local print spooler service is not running is here guys! As usual, I want to share my experience about the error on the printer. Error which occurs is in the form of message that mentions local print spooler service is not running etc etc. that happens when I want to change the status of one of the printers into a default printer. Besides that, the printer does not respond when I do a printing activity.
What is a spooler for a printer?
The Print Spooler is a service that is built into most Windows Operating systems. Its job is to help order print jobs and to interact with the printer. Problems with the Print Spooler include print jobs getting stuck in the queue. Sometimes the Print Spooler stops working or has had an error occur.
What is a spooler error?
To solve this error, try the following steps. Press “Window key” + “R” to open the Run dialog. Type “services.msc“, then click “OK“. Double-click the “Printer Spooler” service, and then change the startup type to “Automatic“. This sets the Spooler service to start automatically when you restart the computer.
But further, if the problem still exists, just as the information, the printer I use are in two types; those are Canon printer ip2770 and HP Laserjet printer p1005. Both printers are the sharing printer from both computers which are used by some other computers in one network.
The very first appearance of this error printer is when the connected computer to the printer wants to print the documents but suddenly the error occurs, not respond and there is no result of printing. And when I want to configure into default printer, there is always an error message appears that mentions local print spooler service is not running.
To solve that problem, I try some troubleshooting activities by uninstalling the printer driver until removing the printer device, canceling all pending documents to be printed, but still, the result remains the same. The printer is still no respond and even error message still appears.
And finally, I try to combine some tips which I get from Google search. The tips are described below:
Uninstall the printer driver
– Go to Drive C
– Windows System32, find out the Spool folder and change the name into spool1
– Copy the spool folder from other computer, or you can download it here and then after that go to Drive C – Windows – System32 and then restart your computer
– Reinstall the printer driver and try again to have a test print
I do those steps above until the printing process runs properly and it comes without any error message like error local print spooler. Good luck for trying.
